DAY TOURS

Drakensberg Day Tour	On the eastern side of the Drakensberg Escarpment, facing away from the Blyde River Canyon, is the Mariepskop complex, a mountain enclave and centre of endemism of unsurpassed beauty. The botanical wonders of these high altitude afromontane forests can be witnessed while walking some unforgettable trails laid out under the forest canopy. It is also interesting to note that Mariepskop contains well over 2000 plant species, greater than the whole of Kruger Park and far exceeding Table Mountain’s plant diversity.
Panorama Canyon Route	Echo Caves, 3 Rondawels, Lowveld View, Wonder View, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Berlin Falls, Lisbon Falls, God's Window, Rain Forrest, Pinnacle Rock, Panorama Falls and the Big Swing, Sudwala Caves and Dinosaur Park, and numerous other Waterfalls (Mac-Mac, Forest, Horse Shoe, Bridal Veil, Lone Creek, Sabie etc.)
Endangered Species Tour	Animal Rehabilitation Centre, Dangerous Reptile Demonstration, Jessica the Hippo hand reared from infancy and famous from Animal Planet.
Modjadji Forest Nature Reserve	This beautiful hillside reserve contains the largest concentration of a single species of cycads (Encephalartos transvenosus) in the world. Reminiscent of "Jurassic Park" - one almost expects to see dinosaurs lurking amongst these ancient royal cycads which date back 60 million years. A small museum in the Reserve is dedicated to the ancestors of the Rain Queen, who still lives in protected isolation in the area. Also within the Reserve are four delightful walks, an attractive dam for fishing and a splendid picnic site.
DAY ACTIVITIES
Blyde Dam Boat Cruise	Take a Boat Trip and view the spectacular 200m waterfall which is one of Africa's largest active tufa falls. On your boat trip you will also feast your eyes on the dam wall and famous 3 Rondawels . Taking 1½ hours, this trip is not only a treasure for the senses, but informative as well, the guide telling all about the history of the canyon. Expect to see ferocious crocodiles, hippos, kudus, waterbuck, bushbuck, duikers, baboons, monkeys and maybe even some leopard. Listen out for the achingly beautiful call of the fish eagle while you drink in one of the most beautiful places this country has to offer. In fact, with over 500 birds recorded in this area, this is a choice destination for birders. Here you will spot the brownheaded parrot, purplecrested loerie and its close relative, the Knysna loerie, chorister robin and olive bush shrike, to name a few. Whatever your interests, relaxing on a boat drifting down one of the most amazing rivers in Africa will feed your soul.

Angling / Fishing	Klaserie Dam has the best track record for producing big fish of any angling venue anywhere in South Africa. it holds the current South African and Southern Hemisphere record for a carp, standing at 64lb caught in 2001. There have been over 60 captures of 50lb+ fish by visitors to South Africa since 1999, with the number of people catching 40lb fish standing at 128. Klaserie certainly holds its fair share of big fish, many of which still elude capture, but, this is no stock pond and anglers will have to work hard if they are to reap the rewards Klaserie can offer.

4 x 4 Driving Course	An introductory 4X4 training program to give the 4X4 owner more experience. Their "One Day Program" is aimed at the new and experienced driver. The course starts with a classroom session where the details of how a 4X4 works, 4x4 driving techniques and vehicle preparation is covered. On the 4x4 tracks a hands on lesson is given on how the various recovery equipment can be used e.g. Hi Lift Jack, Electric Winch etc., following this they accompany you in your vehicle through steep ascent and descent under wet/dry conditions, axle twisting, driving over rough terrain and through mud.
